Scaling and Root Planing
Our deep periodontal cleaning removes plaque, tartar and harmful bacteria from beneath the gums. We also carefully clean and smooth the tooth roots, helping your gums heal and reattach for a healthier foundation.
Periodontal Maintenance
If you have a history of gum disease, we provide ongoing specialist care to keep it under control. At each visit we perform a specialized cleaning and monitor the spaces between your teeth and gums, so any change is caught early, before the condition can worsen.
Flap Surgery
When gum disease has created deep pockets that routine cleaning cannot reach, we gently lift back the gums to thoroughly clean the tooth roots and remove infected tissue. We then reposition the gums to fit snugly around your teeth, making the area easier to keep clean and helping to stop further bone loss.
Gum Grafting
Where gums have receded, we place healthy gum tissue over the affected areas. This protects exposed tooth roots and improves both the appearance and the stability of your gumline.
Bone Grafting & Regeneration
Advanced gum disease can weaken or destroy the jawbone. We rebuild lost bone using grafting and regeneration techniques, restoring support for your teeth and, where needed, creating a strong foundation for a future dental implant.
Dental Implants
We replace missing teeth with a long-term solution: a small artificial root placed into the jawbone. Once it has healed and fused with the bone, it supports a replacement tooth that restores both function and appearance. Our periodontist works closely with our prosthodontist on the final crown or bridge.
Crown Lengthening
We reshape or remove excess gum tissue, and in some cases a small amount of bone, to reveal more of the tooth. This improves access for a filling or crown, or enhances your smile where the teeth appear short or the gums look uneven.
Your Gum & Implant Questions Answered
Are Bleeding Gums a Sign of Gum Disease?
Bleeding when you brush or floss is often an early sign of gum inflammation (gingivitis). At this stage it can usually be reversed with a professional cleaning and good home care. Left untreated, it can progress to periodontitis, where the bone supporting the teeth is gradually lost. If your gums bleed regularly, feel swollen, or you notice bad breath or loose teeth, book a periodontal check-up.
Is Getting a Dental Implant Painful?
Implant placement is done under local anesthesia, so you should feel pressure but not pain during the procedure. Most patients have some soreness and swelling for a few days afterwards, which is usually managed with regular pain-relief medication. We explain what to expect and give you clear aftercare instructions before you go home.
How Long Does the Dental Implant Process Take?
It depends on your bone and gum health. After placement, an implant typically needs around three to six months to fuse with the jawbone before the final tooth is fitted. If bone grafting is needed first, the timeline is longer. After examining you and reviewing your X-rays or scans, we give you a personalized plan and timeline.
